FAISALABAD – Pakistan People’s Party leader Faisal Saleh Hayat was severely injured in a road accident in Faisalabad, late Wednesday.
According to Motorway police officials, Hayat was heading to Jhang from Faisalabad when his car rammed into a trailer near Ameenpur area.
Consequently, the PPP leader and his driver were injured and both were immediately rushed to Allied Hospital.
Hayat sustained injuries on his head and a broken arm but was said to be out of danger. However, his driver was said to be in critical condition.
Scores of followers of Hayat, who also happens to be a spiritual leader, reached the hospital as soon as they heard of the mishap.
It bears mentioning that Hayat joined the Pakistan Peoples Party earlier this year. The former MNA remained a key member of the federal cabinet under prime minister Shaukat Aziz.
