SKARDU – Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Mirage Jet fighters made flights over Siachen Glacier on Wednesday morning.
Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman, who visited the Qadri Airbase in Skardu, has warned India of severe repercussions following any aggression, PAF sources said.
The PAF Chief stated Pakistan’s response to any Indian aggression will be remembered by their coming generations, Geo TV reported.
Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman confirmed that all forward operating bases of the PAF have been made operational in response to Indian ‘threats’.
Aman also met the pilots and technical staff of the fighting force and himself flew a Mirage jet on the occasion.
In an unprecedented move, Indian Air Chief Marshal BS Dhanoa has written a personal letter to nearly 12,000 officers of the Indian Air Force (IAF), asking them “to be prepared for operations with our present holdings, at very short notice,” reported Indian Express news.
“In the present scenario, there is an ever persistent sub-conventional threat. Therefore, we need to be prepared for operations with our present holdings, at a very short notice,” the letter states.
The Siachen glacier is the highest battleground on earth. It is located in the eastern Karakoram range in the Himalayan mountains where the Line of Control between India and Pakistan ends.
In New Delhi, IAF sources said there was no violation of India’s airspace.
