Peshawar varsity teacher held for drug peddling

PESHAWAR – Police on Tuesday apprehended a lecturer of Islamia College University, Peshawar following charges of narcotics selling.

SSP Operation Sajjad Khan while talking to a private news channel said that Bashir Ahmad has been arrested during a raid conducted on a tip off in Regi area of Peshawar. The accused is allegedly involved in supply of ice, a kind of drug produces from methamphetamine.

He added that police have recovered 20 grams of ice, 150 grams of charas and two hand guns from his possession.

A report prepared by a non-government organisation (NGO) stated that 44 to 53 percent students of large private schools in the federal capital are addicted to various kinds of drugs. The addicts are either supplied by intoxicants by their fellows or teachers, it added to the astonishment of committee members.
