ISLAMABAD – Pakistan would hoist the eighth largest flag of the world at the Wagah border, preparations for which are in full swing, it emerged on Wednesday.
The giant green flag would be installed in the park adjacent to the border and it would be 400 feet high, 120 feet wide illustrating its glory before Pakistan’s arch-rival, India.
According to The News, quoting the assistant director of PHA the machinery is at work to remove the trees from the place where the flag is planned to be erected.
The daily parade at the Wagah border amid masses blaring patriotic slogans is the essence of the ceremony that people come to witness and so this addition of eighth largest flag would surely boost their spirits and passion.
Indian side already has a giant flag at Attari-Wagah border for which Pakistan complained to New Delhi and alleged that India’s tallest ever flag measuring 110 metres high was an instrument for ‘espionage’.
