London or Pakistan? Nawaz Sharif s return plan still shrouded in mystery

RIYADH – Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s return plan to Pakistan is still shrouded in mystery as conflicting reports are emerging whether the PML-N president would head to London or Pakistan to face the pending cases.

Sharif, who performed Umrah in Saudi Arabia along with his mother, was poised to return to Pakistan on October 24 ahead of his scheduled appearance before the accountability court in corruption references. However a snapshot of the ticket recently surfaced online that suggests that he would be arriving in Pakistan on January 7th.

The ticket shows that his personal secretary Haneef Khan would also be accompanying him on PIA flight number PK-758 from London’s Heathrow airport.

As soon as the ticket went viral over the internet, the elder son of Nawaz Sharif, Hassan Nawaz contradicted the claims that Nawaz Sharif would be arriving in London clarifying that the former premier would directly embark on Pakistan journey from Saudi Arabia today (Wednesday).

“Nawaz Sharif would be appearing before the accountability court upon his return,” added Hassan Nawaz.

It bears mentioning that an accountability court in Paksitan had indicted the former prime minister in three corruption references filed by National Accountability Bureau last week.

Sharif, who appeared for the first time before the accountability court on September 26, headed to London on October 5th to inquire after his Lymphoma-suffering wife Kulsoom Nawaz.

The accountability court in Islamabad would resume hearing references against the PML-N president on Thursday but its still unknown whether the elder Sharif would show up or not.
