Shehbaz Sharif set to leave for London on Sunday

LAHORE – Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif is expected to leave for London tomorrow, private new channel claimed on Saturday.

Deposed prime minister Nawaz Sharif, who landed in Saudi Arabia a few days ago reportedly to meet his mother and perform Umrah by skipping hearing of corruption references in the accountability court, is also set to reach London instead of heading Pakistan.

In the UK, both brothers are expected to meet for discussing important matters and current political situation of the country.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif and other bigwigs of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) would also go to London in coming day to call on their party president.

Regarding Nawaz’s tour to Jeddah, there were claims made by media that the ex-premier was scheduled to hold meetings with members of some influential personalities of the Kingdom.

It may mention here that Nawaz Sharif reached the Gulf country days after Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa held a high profile meeting with Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman.

Media reports suggest further said that the former premier will reach Pakistan on November 2 ahead of accountability court hearing on Nov 3.

On October 19, the court had indicted the former premier in three references regarding Avenfield apartments, Azizia Steel Mills and dozens of other companies despite his absence.

As he continued shunning court proceedings, the court during last hearing on October 26 issued bailable arrest warrants for Sharif in two of the graft cases.
