PPP will not save PML-N again: Zardari

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) co-chairperson Asif Ali Zardari has asserted that his party will not make efforts to save the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in future.

Addressing a public rally at Islamabad’s Parade ground to commemorate the party’s Golden Jubilee Founding Day celebrations, Zardari termed PTI chief Imran Khan ‘Jaali Khan’ and Nawaz Sharif a ‘Godfather’.

“We saved Nawaz Sharif twice in the past but will not save him and his party again in the future,” the former president said, adding the PPP would instead make efforts to bring the PML-N government to an end before the establishment of an interim set up for next general elections.

“We will fight with Nawaz Sharif and bring our own democracy to the country,” Zardari vowed.

“Whatever will unfold in the future will be on the basis of the public vote,” he added.

Zardari said, “I used to say dictators they don’t have any future here. Musharraf left Pakistan when he saw his dark future.” “Now whatever will unfold in the future, will be on the basis of vote of public,” he remarked.

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also addressed the rally. He said his grandfather Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and his party laid the foundation stone of democracy in the country.

Bilawal congratulated those who have laid the basis of Pakistan People’s Party and stood against the dictatorship. “People are centre of power in Pakistan,” Bilawal said and asserted and only democracy could strengthen Pakistan.

The preparations for the rally were completed earlier after which supporters began amassing at the venue.

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) was founded on November 30, 1967 by Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, who became its first chairman and later Prime Minister of Pakistan.
