ISLAMABAD – A lawmaker of ruling PML-N on Tuesday announced he was quitting the party to join Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, slamming the ‘corrupt’ leaders of Nawaz League.
Tariq Mehmood, MNA from NA-98 constituency of Gujranwala, called on PTI Chairman Imran Khan and other party leaders at Bani Gala, where he announced his decision to join hands with the party.
Mehmood said that he has decided to join PTI along with thousands of supporters. He also lauded the Imran-led party and stated that he has firm belief in party leadership and vision.

“Imran Khan has secured the future of coming generations by bringing the ‘corrupt’ Sharif brothers to justice,” the MNA was quoted by PTI sources as saying to PTI leaders.
Vowing to eliminate PML-N strongholds in Gujranwala during the general elections 2018, Mahmood announced that he would visit Punjab in the coming days and answer those uttering ‘derogatory remarks against the institutions’.
