RAWALPINDI – In a historic first, international bigwigs related to sports and show business would land in Pakistan to attend an event commemorating the Pakistan Day, later this month.
The distinguished guests which would be attending a dinner on 23rd March at a local five-star hotel include Argentina’s legendary footballer Diego Armando Maradona, former German tennis player Boris Becker, German footballer Lothar Herbert Matthäus and former Swiss tennis star Martina Hingis.
Moreover, Hollywood actresses Lindsay Lohan and Hilary Swank, Rosanna Davison (Miss World 2003), Ndaba Mandela (grandson of Mandela), actor Sean Stone and Hollywood director Oliver Stone are all set to arrive in the country, for the dinner to be hosted by Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa.
The list does not end here as Colombian singer Shakira is also expected to land in Pakistan, provided she gets well.

Announcing how Pakistan would be rejuvenating on March 23rd, director-general of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor shared a video on social media and stated that the nation was preparing to celebrate the 78th Pakistan Day in a befitting manner.
“Pakistan is synonymous with Peace and we shall safeguard it at any cost IA,” the director general ISPR said.
Pakistan Day commemorates the passing of Lahore Resolution, in which a demand for a separate homeland for the Muslims of the British Indian empire was put forth by Muslim League on March 23, 1940.
Every year the nation celebrates the day with extraordinary zeal and fervor. The armed forces of the country also hold a parade in Islamabad to mark the occasion, with fighter jets zooming across the sky.
Apart from the high-profile dinner, the media wing of Pakistan army is going to release a song on forthcoming Pakistan Day as well.
