LAHORE – Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar faced a hard time during his snap visit to a public hospital in Lahore when a Patient’s attendant censured him to his face, stirring doubts about the issuance of another contempt of court notice, on Friday.
The top judge who is now rigorously visiting hospitals of Punjab, drawing mixed reactions from political observers over the domain of his authority, was stopped by a lady, attending a patient, who complained about the behavior of CJP’s staff during his surprise visit.
‘Your staff is teasing my patient. This does not look nice’ reiterated the lady to the CJP who was flanked by his fellow Justice Ijazul Ahsan and Lahore High Court Chief Justice Muhammad Yawar Ali, however, the judge did not respond and left the place.

The CJP not only visited Services Hospital and Punjab Institute of Cardiology Lahore but also inspected the Pak-Red Crescent Medical and Dental College in the Dina Nath area of Kasur on the same day where he observed that the college had been charging fee in excess.
The CJP ordered the college administration to return the extra fees collected within a week promising to conduct such visits across the country.
Following the CJP’s orders, FIA officials arrested the vice principal of the college, as well as Dr Muhammad Shaukat, the official in charge of the accounts office, and seized the records.
The CJP had inspected different sections of Mayo hospital Lahore back in December, last year and the visit was hailed by Chief Minister Punjab Shehbaz Sharif, much to the surprise of political commentators, wary of defined institutional roles.
