NAB launches fresh inquiry against Jaffar Leghari, others over alleged corruption

ISLAMABAD – The National Accountability Bureau Chairman Justice (retired) Javed Iqbal ordered to verify complaints against four high-level officials including member National Assembly Sardar Jaffar Khan Leghari over the alleged occupation of 2,425 Kanal land in Chandia.

The orders were given at a high-level meeting held at the NAB headquarters, Islamabad on Friday.

Besides Leghari, the NAB chairman ordered complaint verification against the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa former chief secretary Amjad Ali Khan in a case of illegal award of contract of Korag Kanal project and cutting of precious trees.

Another decision was made to verify complaint against special assistants to CM Sindh Phlag Mill and Imtiaz Elaj over allegations of possessing assets beyond known sources of income.

The chairman also allowed to start complaints verification against sitting minister of Sindh Cabinet Manzoor Wasan for allegedly accumulating assets beyond his income.

The NAB chairman directed the officials to work for the elimination of corruption as their national responsibility.
