KUWAIT CITY – As many as 15 oil workers, including three Pakistanis’ were killed after a head-on collision between two buses in southern Kuwait late Sunday.
Seven of those lost their lives were Indian nationals, while five others are Egyptians, a Kuwait official said, adding that two other Indian citizens and a native received injuries in the accident.
All the deceased were employees of a contracting firm that works for state-owned Kuwait Oil Company (KOC). The buses were transporting the employees when the accident happened near Burgan oil field.
Following the incident, firefighters rushed to the scene to rescue the injured. One of them was shifted to hospital by an ambulance while other by air.
The firefighters had rescued four individuals who were trapped in the wreckage of mangled metal.
