FAISALABAD – Police on Monday registered a case against unidentified suspects for raping and then killing a seven-year-old girl in Islampura area of Faisalabad.
People found the body of the victim, identified as Mubashira, from a nearby field after she went missing yesterday. The body was later shifted to hospital for postmortem.
Police said that torture marks were found on the girl’s body, which has been handed over to the aggrieved family for burial.
According to CCPO, some animal ate part of her body.
The City police station registered the FIR under sections of abduction, rape and murder following a complaint lodged by the minor’s father.
Shops and markets are closed in Jaranwala as people are protesting the brutal act, demanding swift action against the culprits.
On March 28, body of a 25-year-old woman, Abida Ahmed, who was a student of MA in English at Faisalabad Government College University, was recovered from a stream from the same area.
An autopsy report showed that the girl was killed after being tortured. A police case has been registered while there is no development on it.
