PESHAWAR – Inspector General Police, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Salahuddin Mehsud on Friday received praises from Pakistan’s top court over his speedy action on the court orders regarding withdrawal of security from influential individuals not entitled to official security
As a bench of the Supreme Court, headed by Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar took up a case pertaining to the security provided to individuals in the K-P at Peshawar’s registry, the IG presented a report following the orders of the court.
On Thursday, the chief justice ordered Mehsud and IGPs of all provinces to withdraw security from all unauthorised persons within 24 hours and submit a report tomorrow.

The IG, during today’s hearing, informed the court that security has been withdrawn from 1,769 non-essential officials.
To which, the chief justice remarked: “You did a good job, Thank you!”. He also expressed satisfaction over the performance of the KP police head.
CJP Nisar continued, “If the court can salute anyone then I salute IGP Salahuddin Mehsud”.
Talking to media, the IGP said that the security was called off by midnight, adding that the department, earlier, withdrew security from 900 persons in past three months.
During the yesterday’s hearing, Mehsud informed the court that 3,000 police personnel were deployed for the protection of non-essential officials in the violence-battered province.
Earlier, when the top cop appeared before the bench, the top judge remarked that he had heard a lot about Mehsud, adding that the province witnessed a lot of bloodshed in the fight against terrorism.
