Interim Punjab govt warns Shehbaz of revealing secrets after puppet comments

LAHORE – Caretaker Punjab government has warned Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif that he should avoid from hurling the accusation of biases at it during electioneering.

Interim Punjab Law Minister Zia Haider Rizvi said that the former chief minister was making only hallow claims of giving favour to a particular political party. He warned, “We have many things to be exposed,” asking the PML-N leader to not force them to the blow the lid off secrets, Dunya News reported.

He clarified that the temporary government was functioning according to the code of conduct; therefore, the political leaders should stay away from the blame game.

Talking about providing facilities to former prime minister Nawaz Sharif in the Adiala Jail, the law minister said that jail perks are available to the convicted Sharif as per the law.

The warning from the interim minister comes as Shehbaz Sharif on Friday apparently called the caretaker set-up puppet in the hands of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), saying: “The caretaker set-up of Punjab is dancing to the tunes of the Imran Khan-led party”.

Addressing a press conference in Peshawar, he also hit out at the Election Commission of Pakistan for not taking action of this situation.

The PML-N president further also slammed the actions of the National Accountability Bureau against his party members. He said that the PML-N was the sole target of the proceedings of the anti-graft body.

However, he expressed confidence that the PML-N will bag victory in the coming elections if there are free and fair polls in the country.
