Haroon Bilour s widow to contest PK-78 by-elections

PESHAWAR – Awami National Party (ANP) has nominated Samar Haroon Bilour, the widow of Haroon Bilour, as a candidate for the provincial assembly constituency PK-78 Peshawar in the bye-elections.

The decision to award tickets for the party candidates in the bye-elections was taken during a meeting of the Parliamentary Board held at Bacha Khan Markaz on Monday.

The polling on PK-78 Peshawar was canceled due to the assassination of Haroon Bilour in a suicide bombing during a party gathering in Yaka Toot area of Peshawar in July.

As many as 21 people were left martyred in the attack that shocked the country just 11 days ahead of the General Elections, prompting the electoral body to postpone the elections in the said constituency.
