VIDEO: Nawaz, Maryam s last interaction with Kulsoom Nawaz moves social media to tears

LONDON – Former premier Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz’s final emotional interaction with Kulsoom Nawaz is moving social media buffs to tears as the duo was filmed trying to talk to the cancer-suffering lady.

A couple of videos captured in London show Maryam Nawaz trying to talk to her cancer-suffering mother who was put on a ventilator after suffering a cardiac arrest a few months back.

‘Ammi! see, dad is here,’ Maryam tries to convey to Kulsoom Nawaz, without getting any response back.

In another video, the former prime minister Nawaz Sharif can be seen trying to talk to Kulsoom Nawaz who was not able to talk back.

‘May Allah grant you health,’ he says in the brief video which apparently dates back to July when Nawaz Sharif was heading back to Pakistan after conviction in the Avenfield reference.

Kulsoom Nawaz breathed her last at the age of 68 at the Harley Street Clinic, months after battling lymphoma, cancer of the lymph nodes.

After her death, Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz and Captain (r) Safdar were freed on parole from the Adiala Jail on a request forwarded by Pakistan Muslim league Nawaz president, Shehbaz Sharif.

According to Hussain Nawaz, the son of Kulsoom Nawaz, the funeral prayers would be offered on Friday following which Kulsoom Nawaz would be laid to rest at Jati Umrah.

Meanwhile, former chief minister Punjab Shehbaz Sharif headed to London early Wednesday to bring back the body of Kulsoom Nawaz.

Kulsoom’s body is expected to be in Pakistan on Thursday night via PIA’s 758 flight.

Scores of political leaders including Prime Minister Imran Khan, Pakistan Peoples Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Chief of the Army Staff, General Qamar Javed Bajwa expressed their condolences on the demise of Kulsoom Nawaz.

“She was a courageous woman of great dignity and confronted her disease with fortitude,” Mr Khan said in his message.
