‘Talks between Iran and Pakistan took place on all issues of mutual interest,’ he added.

Zarif arrived in Islamabad this morning in his second visit during the newly-elected Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan’s regime; the Iranian foreign minister is also expected to meet PM Imran during his visit.

The Iranian diplomat had arrived in Pakistan on August 31 when he and Imran Khan discussed matters related to bilateral relations and regional security.

After the meeting, the Pakistani premier had said the two countries enjoy historical and religious ties and that the people of both nations needed to extend cooperation in different fields.

Earlier, a few days go, PM Imran had said that Pakistan would try to mediate in the Yemen war between the Houthi rebels and Saudi Arabia-led alliance. The visit of the Iranian official is critical in this regard as well.
