Khursheed Shah condemns PM Imran s widely hailed address

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Peoples Party leader, Syed Khursheed Shah condemned the speech made by Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday, which was appreciated by a huge section of society including journalists.

Speaking on the floor of the National Assembly, the former leader of the Opposition stated that it would have been better if Imran Khan had attended today’s session before departing to China.

‘I condemn PM’s speech as because of it the whole world knew what was happening in the country’, stated Shah.

Expressing concerns over deteriorating peace situation, Shah invited stakeholders from all political outfits to sit together and deliberate over what is happening with the state.

Shah regretted that routine-life activities have been crippled across the country saying, we should restrain from practicing politics of vote bank.

‘We should take every step to strengthen state-institutions and let not chaos prevail in the country’, Shah was quoted as saying.

A day earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan advised the groups protesting the Supreme Court’s verdict on Asia Bibi to call off their protests or the state will establish its writ.

Addressing the nation through a video message on Wednesday, the premier lamented that a small section took to the streets after the verdict and used foul language and incited general public to revolt against the army chief and judges.

“The despicable language used by a small section of the society against the army, judiciary and the government is deplorable. Such language is used by enemies of the state,” Khan said in his address.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Supreme Court acquitted a Christian woman sentenced to death for allegedly committing ‘blasphemy’ in 2009.
