Islamabad Airport manager suspended after stray dogs found in premises

ISLAMABAD – Islamabad International Airport’s manager suspended after stray dogs were found in airport’s lounge facility on Monday.

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) sprung into action and suspended the airport manager on the orders of the Director General of CAA after the video of stray dogs inside airport premises went viral on social media.

The DG CAA has also issued orders for an inquiry into the matter.

However, according to experts entry of stray dogs inside the airport was not a management-related issue; it was rather a breach of security.

The airport has multiple layers of security, including the deployment of personnel belonging to Airports Security Force, Rangers, and the police, they added.

The new Islamabad International Airport, which took over 10 years for completion was inaugurated by former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in May.

The management of the new airport in Islamabad was under criticism earlier from passengers and social media users after multiple videos blew the lid off administrative mismanagement, with some claiming that they had to wait for luggage for more than 3 hours.
