ISLAMABAD – The federal government has slashed petrol and diesel prices for first half of September.
After relief from the government, the revised petrol price is now set at Rs259.10 per litre, and diesel rate stands at Rs262,75.

This is the third consecutive reduction in fuel prices, with petrol prices having dropped by a total of Rs16.5 since July 30. In the previous review, petrol and diesel prices were reduced by Rs8.47 and Rs6.70 per litre, respectively.
Earlier this month, reports quoted a relief up to Rs6 per litre, but the government only lowered prices by Rs3.32.
