PM s aide lays bare Omni Group s undeclared assets ahead of massive crackdown

ISLAMABAD –  Special Assistant to Prime Minister Imran Khan on Media and Broadcasting, Firdous Ashiq Awan revealed a few of the ‘benami’ properties owned by Omni group, ahead of the planned crackdown by the government.

Awan took to Twitter on Tuesday and shared that the relevant officers had attached the undeclared properties, giving a ‘glimpse into Naya Pakistan’.

According to the picture shared by PM’s aide, the properties worth millions; Firdous Ashiq Awan also shared the stocks and shares, the beneficial owner of which is Omni group.

The revelation comes a day after Prime Minister Imran Khan announced that the undeclared assets of politicians would be seized very soon.

Earlier, the government had extended the deadline of assets declaration scheme till Wednesday; prime minister Imran Khan had expressed that the government had received a list of the individuals having undeclared assets, urging the public to avail the scheme.

‘The benami assets of public would be confiscated after July as a list in this regard has already been received by the officials,’ the premier said and added that it was impossible to manage the country, the way it has been managed in the past.
