Firing at Lahore‘s Allama Iqbal International Airport leaves at least two people dead

LAHORE – At least two people have been killed after armed gunmen opened fire at Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore today (Wednesday).

According to media details, the incident occurred in the lounge area of the airport.

The Airport Security Force (ASF) has arrested two attackers, identified as Arshad and Shan, after the incident. The attackers reached the airport in a taxi and they transported the weapons under the taxi seats.

According to the police the men landed at the airport after performing Umrah and were killed over old enmity.

Meanwhile, the Rangers have cordoned off the area, while vehicles entry to the airport has been banned.

The firing incident at the Allama Iqbal Internation Airport caused panic among visitors and passengers.

ASF officials began an inquiry after taking the suspects into custody. According to the initial statement of one of the suspects revealed that he killed the men to avenge the murder of his brother-in-law and nephew.
