Five Pakistani soldiers martyred in blast near LoC: ISPR

RAWALPINDI – At least five soldiers embraced martyrdom in an explosion near the Line of Control, which divides the Kashmir region between Pakistan and India, the military’s media wing said on Wednesday.

Four of the deceased have been identified as Subedar Sadiq, Sepoy Tayyab, Sepoy Zohaib, Sepoy Ghulam Qasim, and Sepoy Naik Sher Khan.

Another soldier of Pakistan Army also sustained injuries in the blast, caused by an explosive device, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement. The explosion occurred in the Jhumb sector of Azad Kashmir.

The ISRP reported that the nature of the blast is currently being investigated.

The Pakistani Army media wing has stated that the incident was proof that India was a state-sponsor of terrorism, and was in violation of the bilateral ceasefire agreement and international rules.

India and Pakistan have long been locked in an unresolved conflict following the 1947 partition of British India.
