US Consul General Collen Crenwelge inaugurates Sahulat Centre in Muzaffargarh

MUZAFFARGARH – US Consul General Collen Crenwelge on Friday inaugurated a Sahulat Centre and Call Centre 1718 here at the Deputy Commissioner’s (DC) Office in collaboration with the USAID Punjab Youth Work Force Development Project.

Speaking on the occasion, he said United States Agency for International Development (USAID) programme was playing a vital role in the welfare of downtrodden people living in southern Punjab by launching development projects there.

He assured of continuing cooperation for the development of under-development areas of the region through the USAID programme in letter and spirit.

Deputy Commissioner, Dr Ihtesham Anwar said on the occasion that setting up of both Sahulat Centre and Call Centre were aimed at the betterment of the people. Now, people could get information by making a single call rather than coming to the DC office, he added.

Later, Additional DC Revenue Atta-ul-Haq and Chief USAID Punjab Youth Work Force Development Project Qaiser Nadeem signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) about the project. A documentary made about the venture was also shown about the project’s importance.

Consul General Collen Crenwelge Bahawalpur and the main library of the city. She highlighted the important role of the libraries for the promotion of social services and education.  On the occasion,  Commissioner Bahawalpur Nair Iqbal Abbasi, Mayor Aqil Najam Hashmi and traders were also present.

She also met with the local traders of Multan and talk to them about the political and economic situation of the area.
