Pakistan s victorious cricket team gets rousing welcome at PM House

ISLAMABAD – The triumphant cricket team that trounced arch-rivals India on June 18 to clinch Champions Trophy title arrived at the prime minister’s house here on Tuesday.

Upon arrival, the Green Shirts received a rousing welcome as State Water and Power Minister Abid Sher Ali, Planning and Development Minister Ahsan Iqbal and State Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb greeted the players

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif also met the team members who ignited celebrations across Pakistan after an unexpected landslide victory at Lords.

Apart from cricketers, PCB officials including chairman Shehreyar Khan, Pakistan Super League chairman Najam Sethi and chief selector Inzamam Ul Haq also arrived at the ceremony arranged in honour of victorious squad.

Not only that, the family members of the players are also accompanying the team, and have been provided accommodation at a private hotel in the capital.

Players and board officials are going to be presented with monetary rewards announced by the premier earlier.

It is relevant to mention that a petition against the monetary rewards was also filed in Islamabad High Court for which the court has reserved judgment.
