PM Imran rules out political victimization in Rana Sanaullah s arrest

ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Imran Khan affirmed on Thursday that the government had got nothing to do with the arrest of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Punjab President, Rana Sanaullah.

Chairing a session of party spokespersons, the premier expressed that the government doesn’t believe in political victimisation.

The premier said that the institutions and judiciary are independent and those who are arrested should give clarification before the court.

“Opposition wants to conceal its crimes by hurling allegations against the government,” he said.

The premier also commented on his upcoming visit to the United States and said it will further improve relations between Islamabad and Washington.

Rana Sanaullah, one of the most vocal critics of the PTI government and a PMLN-N member of Pakistan’s National Assembly, was arrested over his alleged links with drug-peddlers and banned outfits on Monday.

Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz President, Shehbaz Sharif had alleged that Imran Khan was behind the arrest of Rana Sanaullah.
