ISLAMABAD – Director General Immigration and Passports Muhammad Ali Randhawa has directed officials to process passport renewal applications on a priority basis to ensure faster and more efficient services for citizens.
The directive was issued during an online meeting chaired by the DG with all zonal heads, where the overall performance of passport offices across the country, public facilities and service delivery mechanisms were reviewed in detail.
During the meeting, Randhawa instructed all zonal heads to transform their respective zonal and subordinate passport offices into model facilities by ensuring cleanliness, discipline, a suitable environment and the availability of basic facilities for applicants.
He also directed officials to maintain close coordination with the relevant FIA zonal offices and take effective action against agents and tout networks to ensure their complete elimination from passport offices.
The meeting was further informed about measures to improve awareness regarding the cashless passport fee payment system. The DG instructed that awareness videos about digital fee payment methods should be displayed prominently at all passport offices to guide applicants.
Randhawa also ordered the placement of banners and standees regarding the passport home delivery service at visible locations in passport offices so citizens can benefit from the facility.
Officials were directed to immediately contact applicants who have not yet collected their passports and ensure timely delivery according to the prescribed procedure.
The DG reiterated that renewal applications should be handled on a priority basis to provide citizens with faster, organized and effective passport services.
