ISLAMABAD (Online) – At least four Custom officials were killed and another injured as their vehicle fell into a ditch while chasing smugglers on the Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway near Bahtar on Wednesday.
The deceased were identified as Amir, Shakeel, Ijaz and Jameel and an unidentified official. They were chasing a vehicle of alleged smugglers when their car veered off the road near Bahtar and plunged into a ravine. Upon this, four officials were killed on the spot and another got injured, whose identity could not be ascertained immediately.
The bodies and injured were shifted to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) for immediate treatment.
