ISLAMABAD – Adviser to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz said on Tuesday that the Bab-e-Dosti will be opened only after Afghanistan addressed Pakistan’s reservations.
The adviser held a meeting with Afghan Ambassador Omar Zakhilwal at the Foreign Office and discussed in detail the tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
During the meeting, Aziz advocated Pakistan’s cause and said that innocent citizens were targeted by Afghan security forces at Chaman border.
The complaint was made as recent unprovoked attack by Afghan forces on census teams at Chaman border on May 5 left more than 10 people martyred.
After the aggression by Pakistan’s neighbor, people living in villages situated near the Chaman border relocated to safer places after authorities warned that it was no longer safe for them to stay.
Nonetheless, Inspector General (IG) Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan Maj Gen Nadeem Anjum on Sunday claimed that 50 Afghan security personnel were killed and another 100 injured.
He added, however, that “we are not happy over their losses since they are our Muslim brothers”.
On the other hand, Indian forces have continued their unprovoked firing at the innocent citizens of Kashmir, and continue to carry out brutal attacks in occupied Kashmir.
