PESHAWAR – The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government will establish a state-of-the-art ‘Entertainment City’ and 17 parks in Peshawar to provide better recreational and sports facilities to the residents of the walled city.
‘Entertainment’ city will be established at Nisatta near Peshawar Toll Plaza on Motorway where all types of entertainment facilities including water sports, restaurants, fun land, playing lands for kids, parks and commercial activities would be provided.
Officials in Local Government and Rural Department told on Friday that an inclusive plan has been chalked out for the establishment of an ‘Entertainment City’ in the first 100 days plan of PTI government and practical work on this project will start soon.
Peshawar is lacking recreational facilities since long and this city would help provide the much need entertainment facilities to people within a three-kilometer distance to enjoy water boating, meat and fish dish parties in open. The residents of Charsadda and Nowshera districts will also benefit from this facility.
In addition to it, the KP government will establish 17 parks in different sectors of Hayatabad and one at Regi Model Town Peshawar.
These parks are part of a bigger plan of Peshawar Development Authority to enhance the beauty of Peshawar. Under this project, roadside plantation will be carried out inside Hayatabad.
A major inclusion in healthy’s profile of Hayatabad is construction of ‘Jogging Track’ from Phase-III entry up to Phase-VII along Gandao Khawar besides soft landscaping of existing central parks at Regi Model Town.
The official said beautification and uplift projects are also underway in Charsadda district aimed at to promote large-scale urbanization and reduce population pressure for housing in Peshawar.
Charsadda’s beautification will be achieved with an establishment of green belts on motorway and link roads besides taking pollution-reducing measures in the district known for Gandhara civilization. The government will promote ‘Rajar sweet and ‘Gor’ being a major food item in Charsadda to help farmers and increase income of people associated with this sector.
