LAHORE (Staff Report) – The mourning processions to commemorate tragic events of Karbala on 9th Muharram were taken out in various cities across the country amid tight security on Tuesday.
In Lahore, Over 2000 security personnel have been deployed on the routes of the processions.
DIG Operation, Lahore, Dr Haider Ashraf said every house on the procession routes had been searched to ensure fool proof security.

In Karachi, the main procession was taken out from Nishtar Park and the streets leading to MA Jinnah Road were sealed with shipping containers and other barriers as a security arrangement.
The main ‘alam’ procession was brought out in the morning from Imambargah Hussainia Hall Peshawar while in Lahore the main procession was taken out from Pando street Islampura.

More than 3500 security staff including police personnel and rangers were deployed in Islamabad and the procession was monitored with CCTV cameras.
In Quetta, the main procession emerged from Imambargah Nasir Al Aza.
