LAHORE – Former captain Pakistan cricket team Younis Khan on Wednesday resigned from United Bank Limited (UBL) in protest against the bank’s decision to disband its cricket team which used to play in the top-tier cricket, the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy.
Khan, in a Tweet, said he {Younis} tried his best to convince the bank’s top officials to reconsider their decision but to no avail.
My resignation from UBL after meeting the president Sima Kamil today. Unfortunately, they are sticking to their decision of closing the UBL cricket team. I feel sorry for my teammates; sorry guys I tried my best, but I let you all down. pic.twitter.com/4s8bYOyNIi
