The Sindh government has imposed Section 144 across the province from September 13 to 17, implementing a temporary ban on pillion riding of motorcycles. This measure comes in preparation for Eid Milad un Nabi (SAW), which will be observed on Tuesday, September 17, across Pakistan.

In response to a request from the Inspector General (IG) of Sindh, the Interior Department issued a formal notification on Thursday, enforcing the ban on pillion riding in major cities, including Karachi, Hyderabad, Larkana, and Sukkur. The restriction is part of a broader security effort to ensure public safety during the celebrations of Eid Milad un Nabi.

Section 144 prohibits gatherings and activities that may disrupt law and order. The pillion riding ban, which has been a common security measure during sensitive religious occasions, aims to prevent any untoward incidents during the holy event.

The Sindh government has urged citizens to cooperate with authorities during this period to maintain peace and order.
