ISLAMABAD – Foreign Office spokesperson Nafees Zakaria said on Thursday that the involvement of foreign intelligence agencies in the kidnapping of ex-Lt Col Habib Zahir cannot be ruled out.
Habib Zahir, a former Pakistan Army office, mysteriously went missing in Nepal earlier this month.
At his weekly news briefing in Islamabad, Zakaria said that Pakistani authorities are in contact with the Nepali government to recover the missing ex-army man, adding that Nepal is cooperating in this regard.
Warned against linking Zahir’s disappearance with the case of Kulbhushan Jadhav, the Indian spy awarded death sentence by a Pakistani court on espionage and sabotage charges, he said: “It is unreasonable on India’s part to link the Jadhav case with Habib Zahir.”
He further said that Kulbushan Yadav case is an undeniable proof of Indian state’s involvement in terrorism, subversion and terror financing.
Zakaria said RAW agent Kulbushan was arrested red-handed, he identified himself and admitted his involvement in terrorist and anti-State activities in Pakistan.
Commenting on India’s ministers reaction over death sentence to Jadhav , the spokesperson said India stands exposed as far as its state sponsored terrorism in Pakistan is concerned.
Nafis Zakaria strongly condemned the martyrdom of 14 Kashmirs and injuries to 250 others by Indian forces during the past one week. He urged the international community to help stop bloodshed in Occupied Kashmir, Radio Pakistan reported.
