Professors tried to hide Mashal Khan before he was brutally murdered

MARDAN – The professors of Abdul Wali Khan University tried to hide Mass Media student Mashal Khan in a bid to save him from the wrath of furious students before he was beaten to death, it has been learnt.

According to a report by AFP, a group of students followed Mashal as soon as he left his hostel to proceed to university. The students drenched in anger had thrown him from the second floor of a building before beating him brutally.

The report suggested that Mashal engaged in a verbal spat with the mob. Moreover, the debate was intensified to the extent that teachers had to lock him in a room to ensure his safety.

However, the students stormed into the room and then roughed him up so severely that he lost his life. Mashal was buried in his ancestral village on Friday.

Condemning the killing of Mashal Khan, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan has said that the law of the jungle cannot prevail in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a province ruled by the PTI.
