Raza Rabbani offers resignation over ministers absence

ISLAMABAD – Showing anger over the absence of ministers, Senate Chairman Raza Rubbani offered his resignation on Friday and stated that the government is not serious to run the House.

Urging the government, Rabbani said, “I am ready to resign if government has any issue with me”.

According to reports, the minister concerned was called to brief the House about the gas issue which had been highlighted by the Sindh government on Thursday.

The Senate chairman also issued warnings to additional, joint and federal secretaries, adding that he will take stern action according to the Constitution if anyone was found concealing information from the parliament.

He also warned of strict action against those who will not answer the questions of parliamentarians without any valid reason.

He also postponed the meeting for an indefinite period.

On Thursday, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah threatened the federal government and said that they will take control of Sui Southern office if the province was not provided gas according to its legitimate right.
