ISLAMABAD – Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Secretary-General Dr Hadi Soleimanpour called on Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad.
The secretary-general briefed the prime minister about background and activities of the ECO and underscored its importance as a regional economic organization aimed at enhancing regional social contacts, trade liberalization and greater connectivity.

He also expressed gratitude to the premier for providing an opportunity to apprise him of his ideals of an active and vibrant ECO.
He enumerated a few achievements of the organization in the fields of educational and cultural exchanges between the Member States.
The PM appreciated the role of ECO and while discussing challenges faced by the Organization, ensured the secretary general of full support of his government.

He hoped that under the able supervision of Dr Hadi the Organization will achieve its objectives. He also wished success for the Secretary General’s reform agenda.
Secretary-General of Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Dr Hadi Soleimanpour is paying a four-day visit to Islamabad.
This is Dr Hadi’s first visit to Pakistan since he assumed the office as the Secretary General of the Organization in August last year.
