NJ Power Project to start working by February next year: PM Abbasi

ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has said that the government has added 10,000-megawatt electricity to the national grid in the last four and a half years.

He was addressing the inaugural ceremony of 147-megawatt Patrind Hydropower Project in Muzaffarabad on Friday.

The prime minister said the first phase of the Neelum Jhelum Power Project will start working by February next year. He said work on a number of hydropower projects including Kairot and Kohalla is in progress. He announced that the country will generate surplus power by 2030.

Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said PML-N government believes in practical work and not shallow slogans.

He congratulated the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and assured them that Mansehra Muzaffarabad Mirpur Express Way under CPEC will bring prosperity and development to the region.

Earlier, AJK President Sardar Muhammad Masood Khan and Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan in their speeches thanked the federal government for launching mega projects in different sectors in the state.
