Hospital staff suspended for video-recording women in labour

SARGODHA (Staff Report) – The moment of birth is a glorious occasion, albeit a bit bloody. But it is a crime in Pakistan to capture women giving birth in delivery rooms, as three officials have already been suspended from their service at a private maternity hospital in Sargodha.

According to details, Operation Theater Assistant Kaleem Ullah and nurse Rahat were suspended after a through inquiry by DCO himself, for video-recording women during childbirth. The medical licence of doctor-on-duty has also been cancelled.

Sources have added that cases were also registered against the hospital staff;  however independent sources could not verify it.
