THE LAST ANIMAL: Rangers guard the only male Rhino alive

NAIROBI (Staff Report) – Rangers personnel are on 24/7 duty to guard the three white Rhinos in Kenya which also include the last male Rhino as the sub-specie is endangered to go extinct if these animals fail to reproduce in near future.

Rhinos, the sub-specie that has only one male and four female animals left now worldwide, are believed to carry some medical remedies in their horns whereas scientists disagree with this argument.

The horns are made of Keratin, a protein which composes nails and hair in animals, that is of none medical usage, the researchers maintain.

But the blind belief of the people has paved the Rhino horns’ way to signify them more lucrative than drugs in the region, according to government officials, that is why an armed contingent is always protecting them against dangers.

A special cell is also working in the intelligence department for this purpose.

The male Rhino, which is named as Sudan, along with other two females, Fatu and Najin, is also continuously being given special care by doctors to prevent their extinction.

Medical staff has confirmed that several other means are also being considered other than natural conceiving to save the animal race.
