Top Indian court orders Modi govt to restore normalcy in IOJ&K
NEW DELHI – The Indian Supreme Court has ordered Modi government to restore normalcy in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi issued these orders while hearing a petition by child rights activist Enakshi Ganguly on the state of children between six and 18 years because of the restrictions in Jammu and Kashmir.

The country’s top court also sought a report from Jammu and Kashmir High Court Chief Justice on allegations that people are finding it difficult to approach the High Court.

The Indian chief justice said he will visit Jammu and Kashmir personally, if needed, to check on allegations of human rights abuses amid security restrictions that have been in place since August 5, when Indian government ended special status to the state.

Meanwhile, educational institutions in the occupied Kashmir are presenting a deserted look because of the military clampdown and communications blackout that entered 43rd day on Monday.

The authorities have opened schools up to the 10th grade in the Valley to portray normalcy, but the attendance of children in these educational institutions is almost nil as parents are reluctant to send children to school as they are unable to keep track of them because of the suspension of mobile phone, landline and internet services.

Submission of examination forms for the 10th grade has already started in the Valley even though students said they had not covered all the topics of their academic syllabus.

Shops remained shut and public transport off the roads.
