PESHAWAR – Seasoned television actor Iftikhar Qaiser breathed his last Sunday morning after protracted ailment at a hospital in Peshawar.
Qaiser was admitted to Lady Reading Hospital on Sept 09 after his health deteriorated. As per the reports by hospital administration, Qaiser had been suffering from diabetes and stomach disorder for the last several years.
The financially-strapped actor toiled hard and finally enlisted the help of Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Maryam Aurangzeb to get best medical treatment before passing away.
The famed star started his acting career from Radio Pakistan and worked in all regional languages.

Some of his most memorable work is in Hindko, particularly, the comedy programme ‘Dekhda Janda Re’ with other senior artists like Late Salahuddin, Begum Shamsie, Khalida Rohi, Ishrat Abbas, and others.
He also starred in Pashto comedy show ‘Rang pa Rang’ which aired at a time when PTV’s Urdu comedy series ’50-50′ was gripping the audience.
Iftikhar Qaiser’s dramatic monologue ‘ Ab Main Bolon Ke Na Bolon’ (should I speak or not) became his identity as well.
During a 45-year long career, Qaiser performed in Urdu and Pashto dramas as well apart from showcasing his talent in four Pashto films.
Acknowledging his expertise, he was presented President’s Pride of Performance award.
