Terrorists will not be allowed to regroup: PM, Army Chief

ISLAMABAD (Online) – Army Chief General Raheel Sharif called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif here on Tuesday and discussed important matters including security situation of the country.

Army chief apprised PM of headway made in operation Zarb-e-Azb and actions taken under National Action Plan (NAP).

The prime minister also expressed satisfaction over Pakistan army actions against the terrorists and expressed his resolve to continue operation till the last terrorist is eliminated.

The two leaders affirmed that the terrorists will not be allowed to regroup in the country.

Both the leaders expressed their grave concern over Attock tragedy and agreed on arresting and bringing the perpetrators to justice at every cost.

They also voiced concern over violations of ceasefire agreement by India.

The meeting was also attended by Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Adviser on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi.

Agenda of talks between National Security Advisors (NSAs) of Pakistan and India also came under discussion. Sartaj Aziz briefed the both leaders in details with reference to agenda of talks. The army chief was taken into confidence on this count.

According to sources, the matter of security situation with Afghanistan and India also featured in the meeting.
