ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday directed Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan to personally lead an inquiry into Dawn’s ‘misleading’ story.
“I have complete trust in you (Nisar) and this incident should be independently investigated,” Nawaz said.

PM Nawaz had taken serious notice of the violation and directed that those responsible should be identified for stern action.

Dawn’s senior columnist, Cyril Almeida in an exclusive on October 6 reported about a rift between Civil and military leadership, claiming that some in the civilian government complained at a top-secret meeting that they were being asked to do more to crack down on armed groups, yet whenever law-enforcement agencies took action “the security establishment … worked behind the scenes to set the arrested free”.
