KARACHI – Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad on Wednesday lashed at former mayor of Karachi Mustafa Kamal and called him a “dishonourable man”.
The long-time governor alleged that the Pakistan Sarzameen Party chief had committed massive corruption during his tenure as Karachi mayor. “Kamal had ruined the city”, Ishratul Ibad said while talking to reporters in the port city.
Earlier this week, the former MQM leaders traded barbs after the PSP chief accused the governor of stopping several lawmakers from joining PSP – a dissident faction split away from Muttahida Qaumi Movement.
The Sindh governor further said that no criminal including those involved in Baldia Factory fire would be spared.
“No one should remain in doubt all will face the accountability,” he warned, adding that those who burnt 300 people alive would be hanged. “I ask DG Rangers Bilal Akbar and IGP A.D. Khawaja to hang all the culprits publicly.”
Ibad told the reporters that the Sindh government had actively been taking action against elements behind China cutting in the city for last many years.
Investigations were also ongoing to find out about the culprits involved in dumping the biggest cache of arms in Karachi’s history, he added. “The arms were bought to engage in a fight with the army, Rangers or other LEAs.”
The governor said law and order situation has improved in the province as a result of the successfully targeted operation and the provincial government is committed to eliminating criminals and terrorists to ensure peace.
He lauded performance of Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) for ensuring peace in the city.
He advised local bodies representatives to follow Naimatullah Khan’s example in serving the masses.
