LAHORE (Web Desk) – The inquiry committee has held solely responsible Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) for fuel shortage in the country and submitted its findings to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif here on Tuesday.
On the other hand, persistent petrol crisis has entered into eighth days.
Citizens are desperate to find fuel for their vehicles but the worst petrol situation in Punjab has turned various petrol pumps closed and those who are open facing long queues.
Furthermore, the Minister for Petroleum Shahid Khaqan said that the petrol shortage would be overcome within the ongoing week. He pronounced that he is unaware of any conspiracy against the government as Dar mentioned it.
He further stated that the monetary payment is a responsibility of Ministry of Water and Power whereas Spokesman to PM revealed that the crisis has worsened due to the circular debt as Pakistan State Oil (PSO) was not provided with the required amount on time.
Musadiq Hussain further asked the Finance Ministry that how the circular debt has escalated.
Spokesman added that Chaudhry Nisar, Khawaja Saad Rafique, Abid Sher Ali and Shahid Khaqan have accepted the crisis responsibility then, why no action has been still taken to make the situation better.
Moreover, after returning from Saudi Arabia on Saturday, PM fired four officials, including Abid Saeed, Petroleum Secretary, his Deputy Naeem Malik and Amjad Janjua, the state oil Chief.
However, PM Nawaz has failed to identify the names of those people who are behind the petrol crisis.
