RAWALPINDI (Staff Report) – Fashion model Ayyan Ali was produced before the customs court in Rawalpindi on Friday but the proceedings for her indictment could not be initiated.
The court of Judge Rana Aftab convened the hearing of money smuggling case.
Ayyan’s lawyer Khurram Lateef Khosa stated that two witnesses of the case Awais and Mumtaz have been included in the category of suspects but have not been named in the challan and in such circumstances, new challan had to be filed.
He said that his client cannot be indicted as the challan is incomplete.
The judge adjourned the hearing till September 4 and directed the investigating officers to complete the challan after arresting the two suspects.
Judge Aftab has issued arrest warrants for the accused who are absconding and ordered to present them in the court.
Earlier, it was expected that accused Ayyan Ali will be indicted today.
