PM Abbasi, CM Shehbaz among other bigwigs to leave PML-N: Sheikh Rasheed

LAHORE – Awami Muslim League Chairman Sheikh Rasheed has predicted that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) bigwigs will leave the party in coming days amid indictment of Nawaz Sharif in corruption cases.

He was addressing media outside his residence on Friday claimed that Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Chaudhry Nisar, Shehbaz Sharif, Saad Rafique and other stalwarts will abandon the party.

Around 40 leaders, including complete leadership of Southern Punjab are about to take decision in this regard, he claimed in a programm on a private news channel.

Media reports suggest a rift occurred within the party after the accountability court indicted Nawaz in three corruption references filed under Supreme Court’s verdict in Panamagate case.

Earlier, Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination Riaz Hussain Pirzada, who slammed own government for fake IB, list, said that Nawaz Sharif should leave the post of party president until matters settled.
