ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif arrived in Chitral to visit flood affected areas there on Wednesday.
Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak received the Prime Minister on arrival.
He will be briefed about the flood situation and rescue and relief operation in the flood affected areas.
The Prime Minister is accompanying Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sardar Mehtab Ahmed and Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid.
The PM who could not visit Chitral yesterday due to inclement weather, expressed grief and sorrow over the loss of life and property due to floods in Chitral, triggered by the recent rainfall.
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), on the instructions of the Prime Minister, is already undertaking relief and rescue efforts in coordination with Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).
